Scavenging for Senses

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, classes have been going outside as part of the theme ‘Let’s Connect’, where they have had time to connect with one another but also to connect with nature. They liked using The Tree Council ‘Senses Scavenger Hunt’ sheet, which took them on a journey of the school grounds to find examples of each item – to the garden, the pond, the field and the meadow.

They found flowers, something white, a living animal, patterns, a circle, something an animal might eat, light and dark, and explored many other senses.

The Year 5s also went out to see what they could find.
