We joined the Bridlington Lions today to help with their beach clean, an important job to help keep the wildlife safe and the beach an attractive place to visit. The wind was strong and very chilly and the rain lashed down for brief periods, but we had a great time chatting to the Lions volunteers who helped and also to the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust volunteer who organised the event.
The most common types of rubbish found on beaches are bits of plastic, fishing line, old wipes and lobster bands. We even found an old pair of earphones. These are safely off the beach now.
